Cisco Certified Network Professional, popular as CCNP is a technically high-level certification programme by CISCO. This course enhances the skills of networking routing, switching and troubleshooting network issues to a large extent. On the other hand, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert abbreviated as CCIE is another CISCO certified technical course meant for senior professionals in the networking business.
CCNP is an IT certification learning program, which focusses on all aspects of Switching and Routing and enables the learner to work in partnership with professionals on advance level securities, wireless, video solutions and voice. It is one of the most popular and trending professional CISCO certification programmes that make the learning nurture his skills of troubleshooting, planning and implementing any kind of local and wide area network enterprises.
On the other hand, CCIE is meant for mid-level and senior professionals who are network specialists. Through this course, one can learn to design, implement, build and troubleshoot infrastructures related to enterprise networking. The program was the first issues by CISCO in 1993 and is continuously updated.
CISCO offers various and multi-level certification programs like CCIE and CCNP. CCNP is an expert level certification by CISCO whereas CCIE is a highly professional level certification program. The pre-requisite for CCIE is CCNP certification and not vice versa. CCNP certification has two types of examinations; first, a written test followed by a lab examination. CCIE has multiple modules and various tracks have various numbers of modules. CCNP offers in-depth know-how on CISCO networks whereas CCIE gives thorough knowledge on networking and relevant concepts.
On completion of CCNP, one can aspire to become a Senior Network Engineer and Senior Network Administrator. After certification of CCIE, one can apply to the post of Network Service Manager, Network Engineer.
