Introduction

The Arista ACE Level 1 Network Foundations course is designed for entry-level and new network engineers stepping into network administration and support roles. This comprehensive training provides a solid grounding in networking fundamentals using Arista's industry-leading platform.

Participants will learn core Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing concepts, foundational network security principles, and the basics of IPv6. The course also introduces network automation using Arista CloudVision, giving you a head start in modern network operations. Arista virtual labs reinforce key concepts through hands-on practice in a simulated environment.

Key areas of expertise you will develop include:

  • Network Engineering Fundamentals: Understand network models, the OSI framework, physical and data link layers, IP addressing, subnetting, and transport protocols.
  • Arista EOS Fundamentals: Get hands-on with Arista's Extensible Operating System (EOS), including SysDB, NetDB, CLI navigation, interface configuration, and configuration management.
  • Layer 2 Switching: Master VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, link aggregation (LACP), and MLAG for building resilient switched networks.
  • Layer 3 Routing: Learn static and dynamic routing, distance vector and link state protocols, and WAN concepts including NAT.
  • Security & QoS: Implement access control lists, AAA, DHCP snooping, and Quality of Service policies for secure, optimized networks.
  • IPv6 & CloudVision: Gain foundational knowledge of IPv6 addressing and learn the basics of automating your network with CloudVision.

Upon completion, participants can take an optional 2-hour practical open-book exam to earn the Arista ACE Level 1 Associate - Network Foundations digital certification badge.
