This course delivers a thorough overview of MPLS WAN technologies and segment routing architectures, progressing through comprehensive lessons on MPLS fundamentals, Layer 2/3 VPNs with EVPN and BGP, RSVP-TE tunnels, segment routing setups, traffic engineering, and SR-WAN with DCI.

  • MPLS Fundamentals: Understand MPLS labels, packets, devices, LDP sessions, control plane and data plane tables, penultimate hop popping, and troubleshooting basics.
  • Layer 2 VPN Services: Configure VPNs with VRFs, E-Line services with LDP pseudowires, EVPN (VPWS, L2EVPN, L3EVPN), and Ethernet VPN implementations.
  • Layer 3 VPN with BGP: Implement BGP as PE-CE protocol, configure overlapping VPNs, shared service VPNs, and managed service VPNs.
  • MPLS Tunnels: Deploy RSVP-TE tunnels with explicit paths, tunnel protection, FRR (Fast Reroute) with facility bypass, and admin-groups.
  • Segment Routing: Master SR fundamentals, LDP vs SR transitions, SR traffic engineering with IS-IS, SR-TE policies, and color steering.
  • SR-WAN and DCI: Implement MPLS Inter-AS deployment, L2/L3 connectivity over MPLS-SR WAN, and DCI with EVPN VXLAN and MPLS-SR.

Upon completion, participants can take an optional 4-hour practical exam to earn the ACE Level 3 Specialist - Routing Engineering certification. Achieving this along with the Routing Edge certification grants the ACE Level 5 Professional - Routing certification.
